GENERAL ORDER No. 23

The Imperial General Headquarters is the highest echelon of command of the armed forces of the Empire. In terms of function, it was approximately equivalent to the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff and the British Chiefs of Staff Committee.

THE KINGDOMS AND LANDS OF THE CROWN OF RUTHENIA AND THE LANDS REPRESENTED IN THE COUNCIL OF KARNIA CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE IMPERIAL AND ROYAL ARMED FORCES OFFICE


GENERAL ORDER No. 23

SUBJ: Establishing Uniformity of Rate, Insignia, and Compensation


In order to better facilitate communication, coordination, and interaction between the Imperial and Royal Army and Navy and properly render payment for services performed, the following is hereby enacted:


01. The Karno-Ruthenian Army recognizes and assigns soldiers the following ranks and corresponding rates:

A. Enlisted: Private (E-1), Corporal (E-2), and Sergeant (E-3).

B. Officer: Lieutenant (O-1), Captain (O-2), Major (O-3), Colonel (O-4), General (O-5), and Field Marshal (O-6).


02. The Karno-Ruthenian Navy recognizes and assigns sailors the following ranks and corresponding rates:

A. Enlisted: Seaman (E-1), Petty Officer (E-2), and Chief Petty Officer (E-3).

B. Officer: Ensign (O-1), Lieutenant (O-2), Commander (O-3), Captain (O-4), Commodore (O-5), and Admiral (O-6).


03. Ranks of an equivalent rate will be considered equivalent for chain of command purposes between branches.


04. Enlisted rates shall be denoted by chevrons. One chevron shall represent E-1, two E-2, and three E-3.


05. Officer rates shall be denoted by gold or silver insignia as described herein. O-1 shall be represented by one gold six-pointed star, O-2 by 2 stars, O-3 by 3 stars, and O-4 by 4 stars. O-5 shall be represented by a gold laurel and O-6 by a silver edelweiss bloom.


06. All soldiers and sailors of the Empire shall receive annual compensation in KRV for their military service according to their rate. The exceptions shall be members of the Imperial House and dynasts of the regional monarchies, for whom uncompensated service shall be a duty of station and a matter of honor.


07. Upon the approval of the Imperial Diet, annual compensation shall be rendered in the following amounts:

A. E-1: 24,000

B. E-2: 28,000

C. E-3: 33,000

D. O-1: 45,000

E. O-2: 50,000

F. O-3: 56,000

G. O-4: 62,000

H. O-5: 75,000

I. O-6: 135,000
