The Ministry of the Imperial and Royal Household is responsible for everything to do with supporting the Emperor-King and the Imperial and Royal Family. The ambit of the Ministry's activities encompassed, for example, the supervision and maintenance of the Imperial properties and the management of the Imperial Court. On 17 January 2018, the Ministry of Household became responsible for the Imperial Treasury.

HIS IMPERIAL AND ROYAL MAJESTY’S MINISTRY OF THE IMPERIAL AND ROYAL HOUSEHOLD

His Imperial and Royal Majesty, the Emperor-King, dismayed, communicates, on behalf of the Othonsen Family, the death of their beloved matriarch, MRS. MARIA DAS GRAÇAS CASTRO, who, this morning, 27 May 2O22, in Petrópolis, after a fully realized life, comforted with the sacraments of the Holy Church, God our Lord had to call her.

At the time of her passing, she is posthumously granted the title and style of The Most Honourable Countess von Paeonia und Veroia zu Castro. The Most Honourable Countess left children and grandchildren. She is succeeded by her grandson, Lucas Othonsen.
