The following playlist is focused on the training and practices of the United States Marine Corps, but it provides a very good basic overview of small unit tactics. However, keep in mind, that the IRKAR uses a slightly different organizations -- the remainder of the information is very good, otherwise.....

As the IGH is working diligently on a Drill & Ceremonies manual that will be unique for Imperial Service, the following are presented for instructional and informational purposes, only. The video is a very good run-through of the basic, 16-count Manual of Arms, performed by Reserve Officer Cadets in New Jersey. For additional study, the United States Marine Corps' "MCO P5060.20 - DRILL AND CEREMONIES MANUAL", is presented as a type of 'style guide' for where we will end up.

Video Training: Soviet/Russian Series, by YouTuber "Matsimus"

What follows is a series of videos, produced by the brilliant military YouTuber "Matsimus", a former Royal Army (UK) 'Warrior' Infantry Fighting Vehicle commander, with extensive combat service in Afghanistan, and now a member of the Canadian Army. This series, just a sample of his work, is one of the best basic overviews of Soviet/Russian "big war" equipment and tactics available online. Every video here is highly recommended. Further study of his vast number of videos is also strongly recommended.

The Patrol Sand Table Kit

by MichaeldeAppinfeldt
One of the little-known "tools of the trade" of professional soldiers is the "sand table". Sand tables can be as small as the one in the following video, or as large as a regulation tennis court (if not larger). My own personal kit includes toy soldiers in three colors, a couple of toy cars, a deck of playing cards, a Tarot deck, a Post-It Notes pad and a baggie of decorative skewers...I need to look into more para cord, though......

FIRESTORM -- How To Handle Fully Automatic Weapons, with Peter G. Kokalis

A word of introduction is necessary. Peter G. Kokalis - who sadly passed away in 2017 - was, for many years, one of the most (if not THE most) knowledgeable experts on firearms in general in the world. I can think of perhaps two or three other commentators of his caliber. I learned more about firearms from reading his articles, down through the years, than I did from anyone else. Many, MANY moons ago, Mr. Kokalis was kind enough to personally reply to a letter sent to him by an awkward young man who thought he had a lot more weapons and military knowledge than he did at the time; Mr. Kokalis' reply, as I recall, was quite polite, although his frustration with my inane questions was clear enough. Even then, however, he was not unduly harsh in his riposte. He was a fine gentleman, whose knowledge and wisdom are sorely missed.

FIRESTORM is one of a small series of videos where Mr. Kokalis was able to share some of his knowledge. This is basic, fundamental knowledge, and is of extremely high value. Downloading this video is strongly encouraged.

FIREARMS BASICS

"Forgotten Weapons" host Ian McCollum presents a basic overview of the various types of basic military weapons, including machine guns. While by no means exhaustive, this is a good starting point for those with little experience with firearms.
