In times when we are all affected by a serious disease that plagues all humanity, monitoring the development of the last few months is still hopeful: the “new normal” does not mean the inertia of seclusion, but it can represent the intellectual step that is the first step facing a marathon that includes strategy, planning and, of course, action to put these plans into practice.
On the eve of Easter, on 10 April, the Emperor was awarded foreign honors: he was made Duke of Cabugi by the King of Quinta Velha and Brigadier of the Royal Army of the United Provinces of Mauritia. The following day, still in aristocratic activities at the Imperial Court, Hofbau hosted a lively dinner between the Emperor, the Barons Kiefernholz and Countess Eisenland. The day that followed, 12 April, was marked by a silent Easter in a Persenburg subjected to social isolation.
The following week would be rocked by two events. The Imperial Diet, on 17 April, started the discussion to postpone the mandate of that legislature for another year, due COVID-19. The proposal was not taken forward and the II Legislature ended on the 10 June. No predictions were made about calling for new elections. Once again, the Court would welcome the Barons Kiefernholz, Countess Eisenland and Ms. Nascimento for an official dinner.
On 21 April, while the Imperial Government hailed the heroic efforts of King Christian of Carpathia for assisting civilian doctors and nurses in testing and treating COVID-19, as well as transporting medical supplies with US Army, government officials received, in disbelief and scorn, an outrageous amount of 600 sextillion dollars sent by a candidate for citizen who, having declared that he would refuse to comply with the laws of his country of origin, was refused imperial citizenship. Over the weeks, he would continue to fill the government’s message box with his obtuse and improper pretensions to sue the government for not obtaining citizenship for not wanting to follow the law…
The following week saw the Empire strengthen its ties with South American micronations. The Imperial Government and the Government of the Republic of Rino Island held a conference that resulted in the renewal of diplomatic ties between the two micronations, which dates back to 2015. This conference resulted in a close approximation of micronations from the Brazilian Sector and Rino Island and an unprecedented expansion derivatism and virtualism across the continent, culminating in the accession of Rino Island to the Santiago Conference, the most important micronational organization in South America. On the same 25 April, the Empire would recognize the Kingdom of Luna, a micronation established in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
On 03 May, the Emperor would receive the Order of Saints Sylvan and Florian by the Prince of Lochaber and Glencoe and a week later, he would see Argadia split from the Empire to re-integrate Imvrassia after four years of union. On the same day, Oscar I was made Honorary Member of the Maurense Historic and Geographical Institute, the first honor of the kind that was granted to the Karno-Ruthenian sovereign. The following day, 09 May, a historic event: the Empire, along Mauritia, Villa Alicia, Quinta Velha, Luna, Ebenthal, Syldavia, Lateran States and Rino Island signed the Convention of Mauritsstad, a treaty to promote the friendship between derivatist and virtualist micronations, in one of the most relevant acts of unification of the micronational movement on the continent.
On that same 09 May, the imperial embassy in South Korea would be established and entrusted to Mr. Lim JeaWon’s zealous work. During the process of strengthening diplomatic relations, the Principality of Centumcellae was recognized by the Empire and as a sample of imperial support for Quinta Velha, its king conferred a second honor, the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Rita of Cascia.
On 13 May, the Emperor-King suffered a domestic accident that left him incapacitated, having a medical recommendation to abstain from activities for a week. However, he returned to fulfilling his agenda the day before the recommended on a particularly busy day, answer messages of solidarity from Delvera, Imvrassia and Brienia among others; responded to negotiations with Celyn, made proposals to prevent cyber conflicts in Brazilian sector, participated in a meeting of the Conference of Santiago and received a representative of the Catholic Church in Micronationalism at the Imperial Court.
Two weeks later, the office of Director of Music of the Court, responsible for planning and develop musical initiatives at Court, would be established. The first Hofballmusikdirektor is Mr. Peter Melchior, that a month later would be appointed as the new Minister of Culture.
With the month of May coming to an end, the trauma of Argadia’s independence gave space to the union of Free Territory of Celyn with the Empire. Under the terms of the treaty, this champion of LGBTQ+ rights demanded respect and freedom for his population, something already guaranteed by the Imperial Constitution. A special friendship was formed for the defense of the rights and guarantees of men, and the new imperial state located in Wales was placed under the protection of the Grand Duchy of Nordinsel.
On the 04 July, partly for the personal promotion of His Majesty, the Emperor, as well as for the support of the Hungarian community of Greater Persenburg and supported by the Hungarian Consulate in São Paulo, the bells of the Cathedral of St. Stephen the King of Hungary promoted a minute ballads to remember the centenary of the signing of the Treaty of Trianon.
On 13 June, the Empire signed the Treaty of Dionysopol with the Empire of Pavlov and the Treaty of Theodosia, with Pavlov and the North American Confederation. The treaty, which regulates the use and recognition of imperial rank initially caused negative repercussions resolved in a joint note clarifying the terms of the innovative treaty, which in addition to creating unique political mechanisms, truly celebrates and qualifies imperial dignity. The signing of these treaties, in turn, would strengthen the Empire’s connection with its former ally, Pavlov, but also with the North American Confederation and, in turn, with the Great Republic of Delvera, whose representatives would be received in meetings in the first half of July in a strong movement of approximation hitherto unprecedented in imperial history.
On June 16, while the Court celebrated the birthday of Archduchess Denise, the entire Empire celebrated that the Karácsony Football Club won the CFM Cup, the micronational football championship of the Brazilian sector. The result of 4-0 against the Valencia FC was one of the greatest moments of eSport in Empire’s history. That same day, the imperial ambassador to Italy, Nicola Pillonetto, joined the Civil Protection Department on behalf of our Red Cross to help fight COVID-19. Two days later, the Emperor was subjected to test to check for contamination by COVID-19 and it was proved that he had no contact with the disease, has no antibodies and does not transmit the disease.
Continuing with the foreign policy dedicated to the union of micronational projects in Latin America, the Empire articulated the adhesion of the Imperial Government of Lifreia to the Convention of Mauristaad, the Treaty of Persenburg and the Protocol of Goetha. For these efforts, the Emperor received the Grand Cross of the Order of the Black Eagle by the Sovereign Vitor of Deltaria and was made Marquis of León and Grand Cross of the Micronational Order of the Dauphin by the Prince John of Noronha.
In early July, the Conference of Santiago, which had already issued joint notes for the death of the American micronationalist Nicholas Randouler and in defense of the Republic of Rino Island for the violation of its intellectual material, stated a new note on terrorist movements that proliferate through the so-called Sector Lusophone in the phenomenon called in the other sectors “clone nations”. Another warning would be given days later, when individuals from this terrorist group began to copy symbols from the Brazilian Sector and the Conference to deceive foreign micronationalists.
On 13 July, after attending the first mass in Persenburg after months of social isolation, and saluting the Pavlovian Empire for its eighth anniversary, the Emperor received the resignation of Caio de Taxus, who left the Ministry of Foreign Relations after the end of the II Legislature, that happened the same day. Archie Birch, a novice citizen, informally assumed the post of Chargé d’Affaires.
We, the undersigned leaders of the Antarctic micronations, organizations and new nation projects decisively condemn the actions of the so-called “United Republics of Antarctica”, who claimed to be the successor of the Antarctic Micronational Union (AMU) and communicate on their website that several micronations such as Flandrensis, Westarctica, Karnia-Ruthenia and Lostisland gave up their sovereignty and work under the URA.
None of the entities we represent bear any connection whatsoever with this micronation, and we call on Vasia Bratchuk and other people associated with it to immediately remove the mentions of us from their website. We will take all the necessary measures to protect our sovereignty and intellectual property.
We furthermore ask the micronational community and our friends and partners to ignore any communication or request for diplomatic relations from the URA.
As this is the third attempt since 2016, the former AMU members have started a debate to prevent future violations of our sovereignty and the abuse of our name and reputation.
His Excellency, Yaroslav Mar, President for Life of the Federal Republic of Lostisland
His Royal Highness, Travis, Grand Duke of Westarctica
His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Oscar, Emperor-King of Karnia-Ruthenia
The Conference of Persenburg was held in frequent, scheduled sessions from 16 to 18 January 2019. The conference was held via Internet, in a Facebook discussion group to overcome obstacles of time and distance. The Conference aimed to discuss economy within the Lusophone sector of micronationalism, studying cases and exposing several topics of discussion, exploring the examples in process among the invited micronations.
On 14 January, the first theme of the day was “Micronational Economy: Feasibility”. Representatives of Deltaria, Manso, Villa Alicia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. There was an intense exchange of experiences, especially on the creation of companies in the micronational sector, with emphasis on the Manseans advances.
The second debate was “Economic Framework: Practical and Legal Aspects”. Representatives of Deltaria, Manso, Villa Alicia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. This discussion was marked by the exchange of experiences of the representatives, with special attention to the economic practice between the involved ones and the diminutive legislation on the subject in Deltaria.
On 15 January, the first theme of the day was “Utilization and Ballast: of the Applications and the Value of the Micronational Currency”. Representatives of Deltaria, Manso and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. Innovative measures were discussed to replace ballast, which in practice was less widespread in the micronational medium as a practical concept and foreign micronations and their established ballasts were mentioned.
The second debate was “Cryptocurrencies and the Mining Process for Micronationalism”. Representatives of Deltaria, Manso and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. It was shown that few micronations made use of cryptocurrencies, as an expensive alternative and with few successful examples in the middle, although it was definitely an option.
On 16 January, the first theme of the day was “On the standards of ballast and conversion: economic integration tool?”. Representatives of Manso and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. The Mansean conversion alternative was presented; an innovative method with analysis by means of algorithms that would measure activity as a means to convert this variable as value of a micronational currency. Posteriorly, the “Betism”, a economic theory developed by Rafael Campos, Ministry of Economy of Deltaria, was also presented. A suggestion of support for the Nazi-fascist cause on the part of a Deltarian citizen who inspired the theory caused a discomfort with the hosts, making it impossible to continue the appreciation of the theory.
The second debate was “National Banks and Reserves and their relevance in micronational government.”. Representatives of Deltaria, Mauricia, Villa Alicia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. The delegations demonstrated a special peculiarity in this topic, each one having developed very particular methods, mostly refined, with special attention to the procedures adopted by Villa Alicia and Mauricia, the most complex.
The third debate was “Stock Exchange: national or sectoral?”. Representatives of Deltaria, Mauricia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. Partial interest in the establishment of a national stock exchange was shown to the detriment of one for the whole sector due to the lack of micronational activity and the unpopularity that legislation and regulation on the subject used to cause.
On 17 January, for the last day of debates, the first theme of the day was “Economic integration: paths in Lusophone sector”. Representatives of Deltaria, Villa Alicia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. It was found that despite many possible plans, the creation of an entity or body that professed common economic interests would be desirable and would be an instrument to promote economic integration.
The second debate was “Economic activity as an incentive mechanism to the activity”. Representatives of Manso, the Reich, Mauricia and Karnia-Ruthenia participated in the discussion. The highlight was the Maurensian activity, which merges mercantile elements into government activity, forcing the public machine to “pay for activity”, in a system unique to micronationalism in any linguistic sector, there being no parallel case and constituting this in pride of the Lusophone sector.
On 18 January, the last day of the event, the day was reserved for discussions on the development of partnerships and closure of the event, with the distribution of a commemorative medal to celebrate the first organized economic event in the Empire.
Onn 07 August 2009, following the common rite of the micronations created in Brazil, which were intended to be historical-modelist micronations, Oscar I founded the “Kingdom of Montenegro“, which lasted two days and was abandoned by its founder, whose micronational trajectory moved away from historical-modelist system and led him to the Imperial Throne, ruling the Empire in a story begun with the Kingdom of Ruthenia in 2014, after involvement with minor micronations since 2009.
However, nine years have passed and the project that was His Imperial and Royal Majesty’s first step in micronationalism was restored and reorganized in the now Kingdom of Eslavija.
The kingdom was refounded in a statement that a state of Slav culture must have an indivisible and unitary territory, ruled by a constitutional and parliamentary monarchy, recognizing Slavic languages and their cultures as equals, as well as the Latin and Cyrillic alphabet, and Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Islam, religions practiced by most Slavs, recognized as official and protected by the state. Moreover, it defends the equality and freedom of citizens regardless of their origins, beliefs and individual options.
A second document was issued, ordering the restructuring of the state, establishing the Eslavija, the restoration of the former king to the throne and that this be transmitted to the other micronations and to the Emperor-King, who, if he wished, accept the throne.
The affirmative answer came exactly nine years after the founding of the proto-state which originated in Eslavija. However, conditions were imposed on both sides. On the part of the Eslavijan government, the imposition is that the kingdom never would be absorbed by the Empire. On the part of the restored king, is that his reign would be provisional, with the intention of organizing the state, preserve its history and appoint a worthy successor for the future. Both sides accepted these conditions.
Although the separation between Eslavija and Karnia-Ruthenia is assured, the Empire gains a zone of influence next to the projects of the Lusophone sector of micronationalism.
The Congress of St. Louis, hosted by the Grand Republic of Delvera, is a event to be held in frequent, scheduled sessions from 04 to 25 August 2018, via Internet remotely, to overcome obstacles of time and distance among its members. The purpose of the event is to promote rules of conduct relating to conflict resolution and to promote intermicronational economic standards, which would be codified at the Congress, yet enforced by respective nations separately. The Congress wasn’t to be a permanent organization, but rather an event.
The first session took place on 04 August, The Karno-Ruthenian and Delveran delegations were present. The Fristehenian and Dewaconian delegations did not attend the meeting. The meeting, apart of introductory remarks, was the discussion of the pending articles of the 2018 Intermicronational Convention on War, specifically weapons, personal protection, and training. Because only a few delegations were present, the talks did not go too far. The Karno-Ruthenian delegation asked for time to analyze the text, having discussed in principle its effectiveness, being persuaded by the Delverans, since the intent of the document was to establish standards whereby a physical micronational war could take place within the scope of what a micronation is and without violating macronational law.
During the session, was recommended the establishment of the Committee on Economic Development, the Committee on Truces and Prisoners of War and Committee on Economic Warfare.
The second session of the Congress of St. Louis was scheduled for 11 August
The 2018 Micronational Summit of São Paulo was the second summit of heads of states and governments of the Lusophone Sector of micronationalism. This summit, as the previous that happened in 2016, intended to promote the practice of micronationalism and bring together the leaders of the already established micronations.
The meeting was attended by the Emperor-King and Empress of Karnia-Ruthenia, Count Lucas of Orange, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Provinces of Mauricia and Kaiser Wilhelm III and the Count Ferdinand of Vyšehrad of the Império Alemão, a simulationist and historical-modelist micronation.
Despite the difference between the micronational projects that attended the summit, three historical-modelists, which are the predominant genre in the Lusophone Sector, and the realist-derivatist represented by Karnia-Ruthenia, the meeting found several points of convergence that made the summit a resounding diplomatic success between the participants.
Subjects discussed between the parties dealt with diplomacy in the Lusophone sector in a broad aspect, comparisons on micronational practices in different countries, international cooperation and citizen interchange to strengthen ties and share technologies and information, as well as micronational economics and market dynamics.
There was also the awarding of the commemorative medals of the event to the participants and of the Order of St. Peter by Karnia-Ruthenia and of the Maurense Order of the Golden Fleece by the United Provinces of Mauricia.
Facing the cohesion of the participants, other issues of the meeting are expected to occur in 2018.
His Imperial and Royal Majesty, the Emperor-King, received the news of the death of His Royal Majesty, King Michael of Romania early this morning.
A model of behavior and attitude, King Michael reigned with faith and confidence in his mission in one of the most terrible moments of the last century. The last King of Romania personally contributed decisively to shortening the Second World War, saving hundreds of thousands of Romanian civilians and potentially tens or even hundreds of thousands of Romanian and Soviet soldiers, ensuring that the Allied victory would come much more quickly.
An historical injustice perpetrated by Communists and traitors removed him from the throne, but could never erase his history. After the fall of communism, the King showed his devotion to its Nation, proving that he always was at the service of his country, always in service of the Romanian nation, with inspiring dignity.
May God receive this King of the Romanians: an exceptional man and a dignifying example of what a monarch must be, a public man and an honorable servant of the fatherland. We send our condolences to the Royal Family and to the Romanian People.
