Beginning of the year in the Empire.

Beginning of the year in the Empire.

In the last days of 2017, the Empire established its first regency, of very short duration. With great tranquility, the rulers led the Empire until the year 2018, delivering in good condition the glorious micronation they received from the Emperor-King.

The Regency crossed the period of recess without challenges, except perhaps for the funny confusion caused by certain “Mr. Andrew Carter”, who claims to be “German and East Prussian Imperial Army Field Marshal”, “Royal Prince of Pomerania and Livonia” and “Duke of England”, apparently demanding to join the Imperial Army and relentlessly repeating “and know you know mate”. Despite a challenge to patience, the fact was of little importance.

While the Imperial Government expected the coming of the new year, the Imperial Couple landed in the capital of the Argentine Republic, Buenos Aires. The one-week visit had a visit to Casa Rosada (without evidence of a meeting with President Mauricio Macri), Puerto Madero and its sophisticated cuisine, were at the San Telmo Antiques Fair, were in front of the Obelisk of Buenos Aires in Republic Square to celebrate the passage of year, were at the Street Fair of Plaza Francia on the following day, visited the Buenos Aires Design Centre, were at Nuestra Señora del Pilar Church and at Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as the imposing Palace of the Argentine National Congress, culminating with a visit to the Luján Zoo and visiting the Rio de la Plata Estuary before returning to the country on 05 January 2018.

After a brief rest, His Imperial and Royal Majesty has already joined work. He wrote the first decree of the year, Decree n. 124-2018, putting an official end to the Regency, directing answers to diplomatic missives received during his absence and saluting the first citizen of this year.

The year 2018 will be interesting: complementing laws that need to be updated, a definitive end to the “Malaise de Cumagne” and the judgment of those involved, micronational meetings, elections…

Glory awaits us.
